Staying to true to yourself is what Melissa and Kate feel makes a true Blog Hero and we couldn’t agree more. Melissa and Kate have had a VERY busy year with not only winning a UK Blog Awards, but more importantly delivering two beautiful babies three weeks apart. Some may say it was planned and afterall,  are in the wedding planning business! Tell our readers a bit about you and your Blog content..

Hi, we are Melissa and Kate (friends for 20 years!) and our blog Whisper and Blush was created from our passion and interest in bridal style. When we both got married we found a lot of blogs focussed on real life weddings but none took inspiration from the current trends in fashion, lifestyle and social media. Whisper and Blush was therefore setup less than 2 years ago and it’s our corner of the internet to share our passion for fashion and all things bridal!
Since your big win, where are you now?
Well this year has actually been huge for both of us, in addition to juggling our full time jobs with writing the blog, we’ve very recently had babies (Melissa’s daughter Grace is now 13 weeks and my son George is 10 weeks)! So we are now writing content in between changing nappies, feeding and sleep, however it’s great having to focus on something other than baby talk!
Whisper and Blush has gone from strength to strength and this year we are focussing on really getting out there and meeting more people than ever from the wedding and fashion industries.
Do you think winning a UK Blog Award has helped progress your Blog career?
Yes, definitely!  It’s been a fantastic platform in getting our name out there and we’ve loved saying we’re an award winning blog! We’ve also loved meeting and networking with other bloggers.
So far, what has been the highlight of your Blog career?
Meeting all the lovely people in the wedding industry! We are always so pleasantly surprised at how genuinely passionate and sincere everyone is, it’s a fantastic industry to work in. Another highlight is winning the UK Blog Award (and we’re not just saying that!)
If you were able to go back in time, what advice would you give to yourself about Blogging?
Melissa and I have always agreed to stay true to ourselves and to constantly remember why we set the blog up. It’s easy to get caught up in other stuff to write about but focus is the key!
Would this be the same advice to a Blogger starting out?
Yes, definitely. We would also say not to put pressure on yourself to write all the time and make your blog ‘famous’. Write for the right reasons!
To those who are nominated or entering into the UK Blog Awards, what advice would you give?
It’s an amazing achievement to be nominated and it’s important to make the most of every opportunity.  We’re gutted that we couldn’t attend all the networking events (with us both being pregnant and not feeling too well!) so we would advise anyone else to make the most of these.
Finally, this year’s UK Blog Awards 2017 theme is #BlogHero. How would you define a hero in the blogosphere?
Someone that stays true to themselves, is passionate about what they write and inspires others.
