UKBA16 Fashion and Vlogger Double Winner:
Where are you now
Next up in our Insight interviews, we have caught up with 2016 Fashion and Beauty and Vlogger and Podcast winner, Eltoria. Simone Partner is the talent behind Eltoria and she has already begun to build her own community of #Eltorians.
Since Simone's double wins, she tell us what has been happening in her fast paced life of blogging and why not focusing on fame and fortune makes you a true Blog Hero.
Tell our readers a bit about you and your Blog content.
Eltoria is a Fashion, Beauty and Fitness blog which also reaches out to a wider audience through quirky YouTube videos (yes I was the one who started the Kids Makeup Challenge melt down on YouTube). So the person behind Eltoria is me, Simone Partner, a Law graduate from the University of Reading who made a drastic U-turn in her career after realising that law wasn’t the right path. 3 years on I have been making my mark in the industry and working with some fabulous brands like New Look, Debenhams, Nickelodeon (just to name a few).
Since your big wins in April 2016, where are you now?
I have just gone full time as a Blogger and YouTuber… eeek exciting!
Do you think winning a UK Blog Award has helped progress your Blog career?
Yes absolutely, after winning my awards I instantly got signed by a management company. I also find that more people are now aware of my blog and YouTube channel (which is obviously great).
So far, what has been the highlight of your Blog career?
Oooh there are quite a few, I would say: starring on Channel 5’s The Gadget Show (testing out new tech for Bloggers and YouTubers), being featured in Blogosphere Magazine (talking about the successes in blogging), working with Tinie Tempah in a McDonalds campaign and winning two awards at the UK Blog Awards for Best Beauty and Fashion Blog and Vlogger 2016, and two awards at the Olympia Beauty Blogger Awards for Best Designed Blog and Outstanding Career Achievement 2016.
If you were able to go back in time, what advice would you give to yourself about Blogging?
I would tell myself not to threat so much about stats and figures- because success isn’t just about that. Success can be harvested in many ways and only you can make the most out of your blogging journey. Would this be the same advice to a Blogger starting out? Absolutely! Yes it can be frustrating but sometimes it can take a while to find your style. So don’t panic if you aren’t getting the results that you wanted straight away- trust me it takes a lot of time, consistency and dedication.
To those who are nominated or entering into the UK Blog Awards, what advice would you give?
Firstly give yourself a pat on the back, it’s admirable that you (or someone else) sees the amazing efforts that you are putting into your blog. Make the effort to network, attend events and introduce yourself to your fellow finalists (you’re in it together!). Oooh take your business cards to the awards night!
Finally, this year’s UK Blog Awards 2017 theme is #BlogHero. How would you define a hero in the blogosphere?
A hero is someone who doesn’t focus on the fame fortunes, but instead the message and influence they have over a community.
